Perpetual motion fans actually want ANYTHING to get past the patent office "so it wouldn't be at the will of beucrats to decide what's possible and what isn't". I recall that there are experts in patent offices, dedicated and payed to find what idea is inplausable and what isn't, plus them asking for demonstration.

As a side note, the link is useless; I would have to pay to view it.
