While not directly related to nuclear energy, the following articles at the Energy Pulse web site may be of interest to the reader. Perhaps at higher petroleum prices oil that is currently difficult to obtain will become available, but one wonders who can afford it, and whether or not it is worth the environmental price, regardless of whether or not green house gas emissions cause global warming or perhaps an eventual ice age by Gulf Stream current cessation.
Time is running out and ONLY nuclear energy has the necessary potential to provide base-load electrical power on a large scale without environmental damage. Wind, solar, hydro, geothermal, tidal, etc., should all be used to the maximum extent practical (to do otherwise is simply fool-hardy), but in the end we are stuck with either a predominantly fossil fuel or nuclear economy. The choice is ours.
